A trip to El Limon Waterfall is an exciting adventure that will immerse you in the wild, untouched nature of the Dominican Republic.
El Limon Waterfall is located 3.5 hours from the city of Puerto Plata on the Samana Peninsula, which is known for its luxurious beaches, palm groves and real jungle!
The height of the waterfall is 55 meters, which makes it the third highest waterfall in the Dominican Republic.
The cool water of El Limon has an unusual greenish-yellow hue, reminiscent of the color of a lemon, after which the waterfall got its name.
This excursion can be combined with a trip to Los Haitises National Park or with a whale watching excursion, depending on the season.
You can get to El Limon waterfall either on foot, choosing trekking routes (but here you need to be prepared for physical exertion and the fact that the climb will take you at least 2 hours), or on horseback.
On the El Limon excursion, we offer our guests an interesting horseback ride through the jungle of the Dominican Republic.
The El Limon waterfall excursion goes as follows:
Early in the morning, we pick you up in a comfortable car and drive along a picturesque road to the Samana Peninsula.
Upon arrival, we mount our horses and begin our walk through the jungle to the waterfall.
The one-way walk will take about 40 minutes, after which the horses will wait for us, and we will make a short climb to the waterfall to enjoy swimming in the cool and crystal clear water of El Limon.
We will also go back down on horses.
After visiting El Limon waterfall, we will be able to taste national cuisine.
On the El Limon Waterfall excursion we will also visit the resort area of the town of Las Terrenas with its white, luxurious beaches and in the evening we will go to the hotel.
